Our Mission
Order of Manga exists to answer one simple question: what order should I read this in?
Manga is one of the most beloved storytelling mediums in the world — but it can be intimidating to start. Long-running series like One Piece (110+ volumes) or franchises with multiple spinoffs like Naruto and Dragon Ball don't make it obvious where to begin or how the pieces fit together. We built this site to remove that friction and get readers into the story as fast as possible.
How We Research Our Guides
Every reading order guide on this site is built from primary sources:
- Official publisher information from Viz Media, Shueisha, Kodansha, and Yen Press
- Publisher-recommended reading orders for franchise spinoffs and companion volumes
- Community consensus from dedicated fandom wikis and long-time readers
- Firsthand reading of the series to verify arc breaks and spinoff placement
When publisher guidance and community consensus differ, we default to what makes the most narrative sense for new readers — prioritizing a smooth first experience over completionism.
Accuracy and Updates
Manga is a living medium. Ongoing series add new volumes regularly, and our guides need to keep up. We update pages when:
- New volumes are released for ongoing series
- New spinoffs or companion series are announced or published
- Publisher reading order recommendations change
- Reader feedback identifies errors or outdated information
Each guide displays a "Last Updated" date at the bottom so you always know how current the information is.
